Westbound H-1 Freeway/Pearl City offramp from the H-201 Moanalua Freeway closed nightly for road improvements
Posted on Jan 26, 2018 in Highways Posts, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that the westbound H-1 Freeway/Pearl City offramp from the H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be closed in the overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Sunday night, Jan. 28, 2018 through Friday morning, Feb. 2, 2018, for paving work.
This closure is for the Halawa Interchange Westbound Improvements project which will add a third lane to the H-1 Freeway/Pearl City offramp from the H-201 Moanalua Freeway. Motorists on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be detoured at the Halawa/Stadium/Camp Smith offramp (Exit 1E). Special duty police officers will be stationed at the Halawa Valley Street intersection allowing drivers to turn left onto the westbound H-1 Freeway onramp. One lane will remain open on the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway/Aiea/Pearl Ridge offramp.
In addition, there will be one lane closed on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway/H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the H-3 Freeway/Kaneohe offramp (Exit 1D) and the Aiea Heights Drive Overpass on Sunday night, Jan. 28, 2018, through Friday morning, Feb. 2, 2018, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly.
HDOT advises motorists to avoid the H-201 Moanalua Freeway and use alternate routes like Kamehameha Highway and the H-1 Freeway.
Electronic message boards have been posted to notify motorists of the closures. Emergency vehicles, first responders, and TheBus have been notified of the roadwork and will be allowed through the work zone. Roadwork is weather permitting.
