Oahu Lane Closures

For the week of: June 20 – June 26

— H-1 FREEWAY — 

1) KAPOLEI TO KUNIA 

Roving shoulder closure on the right-hand side of the H-1 Freeway, possible in either direction, between the Kalaeloa Interchange and the Kunia Interchange, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 24 for various maintenance activities to address complaints.   

2) KAPOLEI TO WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Two lanes closed on the westbound H-1 Freeway, between the Makakilo interchange and the Waipahu/Ewa Beach Interchange, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Sunday, June 21 through Thursday, June 25 for demolition and installation of new precast panels. This closure may be of the left, or right lanes, one side to be closed at a time. The left lane of the Makakilo off-ramp (Exit 2) will also be closed during this work. 

3) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating closure of two lanes on the right-hand side of the westbound H-1 Freeway, from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Friday, June 19 for stripe markers work along the freeway and the left lane of the Kunia off-ramp (Exit 5A).  

4) WAIPAHU TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating three lanes building to four closed on the westbound H-1 Freeway, between the Manager’s Drive overpass and the Kaamilo Street overpass for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Repairs. Closure hours vary by day of the week and are:  

  • 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, through 8 a.m. Saturday, June 20  
  • 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 through 9 a.m. Sunday, June 21 

Note: The closure will start with three lanes closed from 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. One side to be closed at a time.  

5) WAIPAHU TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating three building to four lanes closed on the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Kaamilo Street overpass for refreshing of temporary striping for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Repairs. Work hours vary by day of the week and are scheduled as follows: 

  • 7 p.m. Friday, June 19 to 6 a.m., Saturday, June 20  
  • 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 8 a.m., Sunday, June 21 

Note: This eastbound closure will only be implemented if there is rain and the westbound closure (entry #4) cannot be used for the night. Work will start with three lanes closed from 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. Closure may be of the left or right lanes; one side to be closed at a time. The eastbound H-1 Freeway on-ramp from Moanalua Road/Waimalu will be closed during this work.  

6) WAIPAHU TO AIEA (NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating three building to four lanes closed on the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Kaamilo Street overpass, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on the evening of Tuesday, June 23 through Thursday, June 25 for refreshing of temporary striping for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Repairs.  

Note: This eastbound closure will only be implemented if there is rain and the westbound closure (entry #7) The closure will start with three lanes closed from 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. Closure may be of the left or right lanes; one side to be closed at a time. The eastbound H-1 Freeway on-ramp from Moanalua Road/Waimalu will be closed during this work.  

7) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating three building to four lanes closed on the westbound H-1 Freeway, between the Waiawa Road Overpass and the Waimalu off-ramp (Exit 10), from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on the evening of Tuesday, June 23 through Thursday, June 25 for work on the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Repairs. 

Note: The closure will start with three lanes closed from 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. One side to be closed at a time.  

8) PEARL CITY 

Shoulder closure on the right-hand side of the Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 8B) from the westbound H-1 Freeway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, for slope improvements.   

9) SALT LAKE TO STADIUM (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Closure of three lanes building to four on the right-hand side of the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the Kaimakani Street overpass and the Nimitz Highway/Airport off-ramp (Exit 15), continuously closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19 through 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 21 for paving and guardrail work as part of the H-1 Salt Lake Rehabilitation project. The fourth lane will be closed during the following hours:  

  • 7 p.m. Friday, June 19 to 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 
  • 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 21 

10) AIRPORT VIADUCT (NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane and shoulder closed on the right-hand side of westbound H-1 Freeway/Airport Viaduct, between Paiea Street and Peltier Avenue, from 7 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. on the evening of Monday, June 22 for installation of back panel. 

11) AIRPORT VIADUCT TO KAHALA 

Roving single lane closure on the right-hand side of the H-1 Freeway, possible in either direction, between Puuloa Road and Ainakoa Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 to address pothole, litter, and sign requests.  

12) HONOLULU (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Shoulder closure on the right-hand side of the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the Ola Lane overpass and Richard Lane, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. For more information, visit the project website: https://h1awidening.com/.  

13) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the Kinau Street off-ramp from the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the Magellan Avenue pedestrian overpass and Kinau Street, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 21 through Thursday, June 25 for roadway improvements. — H-2 FREEWAY — 

1) WAIPAHU (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Shoulder closure on the right-hand side of the Honolulu-bound H-2 Freeway, between the Ka Uka Boulevard on-ramp and the Waipio Self Storage, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week for construction of access road. 

 

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY — 

1) HONOLULU TO HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway, between the Puuloa Road off-ramp (Exit 3) and the Halawa Interchange, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, June 20 for grass trimming, leaf blowing, shoveling/scraping work.  

 

— H-3 FREEWAY —  

1) KANEOHE (WEEKEND WORK) 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of the Kaneohe-bound H-3 Freeway, between the Harano Tunnels and the Hospital Rock Tunnels, from 2 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 for repairing of steel plate welds.  

2) KANEOHE  

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of Honolulu-bound H-3 Freeway, through the Harano Tunnel, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 for tunnel repairs and maintenance.  

 

— PALI HIGHWAY/ KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY/ KAILUA ROAD (ROUTE 61) — 

1) NUUANU  

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of Kailua-bound Pali Highway (Route 61) between the Wyllie Street on-ramp and Coelho Way, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for installation of striping at new speed table. 

2) UPPER NUUANU   

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of Kailua-bound Pali Highway (Route 61) between the Pali Lookout and the Pali Tunnels, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 for utility work.  

3) NUUANU TO KAILUA 

Single lane closure on Pali Highway (Route 61) possible in either direction, between the Pali Tunnels and Castle Junction, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for pavement marking work. Closure may be of the left or right lanes; one direction/side to be closed at a time. 

4) KANEOHE TO KAILUA  

Roving single lane closure on the right-hand side of Kalanianaole Highway/Kailua Road (Route 61) possible in either direction, between Castle Junction and Hamakua Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 for grass and tree trimming.  

5) KANEOHE TO KAILUA 

Roving shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 61) possible in either direction, between Castle Junction and Castle Medical Center, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for graffiti removal, sign maintenance, grass and tree trimming, and litter removal. Closure may be of the left or right shoulder. One side to be closed at a time.  

6) KAILUA 

Single lane closure on the left-hand side Kalanianaole Highway/Kailua Road (Route 61), possible in either direction, between Ulumanu Drive and Uluhala Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for traffic signals project. Potential closures of a single lane in both directions (for a total of two lanes) may be necessary. New signals activate, Monday, June 22. — LIKELIKE HIGHWAY/ KALIHI STREET (ROUTE 63) — 

1) KALIHI (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of southbound Kalihi Street (Route 63) between Hart Street and Kahanu Street, 24-hours a day, seven days a week for HART restriping work.

2) KALIHI  

Roving single lane closure on Kalihi Street/Likelike Highway (Route 63) possible in either direction, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for CCTV work at the following intersections: 

  • North King Street & Kalihi Street 
  • Likelike Highway& North School Street 
  • Likelike Highway& Kamehameha Highway 
  • Likelike Highway& Kula Kolea Drive

3) KALIHI 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of westbound Kalihi Street/Likelike Highway (Route 63) between Fernandez Street and North School Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspections. 

4) KALIHI 

Single lane closure on eastbound Likelike Highway (Route 63) approximately 750 feet after the Burmeister Overpass, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspections. Closure may be of the left or right lane; one side to be closed at a time. 

5) KALIHI 

Single lane closure on eastbound Likelike Highway (Route 63) approximately 0.67 miles after the Burmeister Overpass, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspections. Closure may be of the left or right lane; one side to be closed at a time. 

 

— SAND ISLAND ACCESS ROAD (ROUTE 64) —  

1) HONOLULU 

Roving shoulder closure on the right-hand side of Sand Island Access Road (Route 64) possible in either direction, between Mikole Street and Auiki Street, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 24 for grass trimming and litter removal.  

 

— KANEOHE BAY DRIVE (ROUTE 65) —  

1) KANEOHE 

Shoulder closure on the right-hand side of eastbound Kaneohe Bay Drive (Route 65) between Aumoku Street and Nohonani Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for erosion control work.  

 

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 72) —  

1) KAILUA TO MAKAPUU 

Roving shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) possible in either direction, between the Castle Medical Center and Makapuu Lighthouse Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for graffiti removal, sign maintenance, grass and tree trimming, and litter removal. Closure may be of the left or right shoulder. One side to be closed at a time.  

2) KAHALA 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of eastbound Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) between Kaai Street and Ainakoa Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 for fencing repairs. 

 

— FORT WEAVER ROAD (ROUTE 76) — 

1) EWA BEACH  

Roving shoulder closure on Fort Weaver Road (Route 76) possible in either direction, between Farrington Highway and Aawa Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 for mechanical mowing, grass trimming and litter removal. 

2) EWA BEACH 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of northbound Fort Weaver Road (Route 76) in the vicinity of Ewa Beach Town Center and Iroquois Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for drilling and excavation at the intersection of Geiger Road.  

 

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 80) — 

1) WAHIAWA 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 80) possible in either direction, between Wilikina Drive and the H-1 Freeway overpass, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 24 for sign work. Closure may be of the left or right lane; one direction/side to be closed at a time.  

2) WAHIAWA  

Shoulder closure on the right-hand side of southbound Kamehameha Highway (Route 80) between Kilani Avenue and Whitmore Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for boring and drilling work. Motorists will alternate contraflow through the northbound lane.  

 

— JOSEPH P. LEONG/ KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 83) — 

1) HALEIWA TO KAHALUU  

Roving shoulder closure on the right-hand side of Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), possible in either direction, between Weed Circle and the Kahaluu Roundabout, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for tree trimming, pothole filling and sign maintenance.  

2) WAIMEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), possible in either direction, between Tutu Street and Kapuhi Street, from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 21 through Thursday, June 25, for striping work as part of the Kamehameha Highway Rehabilitation project. One direction will be closed at a time. 

3) WAIMEA (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Single lane closure on Kahuku-bound Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) between Iliohu Place and Waimea Valley Road, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week to install a permanent rockfall protection system. Traffic in both directions will be maintained by alternating vehicles (contraflow) in the remaining lane with flaggers. — KAHEKILI/ KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 83) — 

1) KAHALUU TO KANEOHE 

Roving shoulder closure on Kahekili Highway/Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, between the Hygienic Store and Castle Junction, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for graffiti removal, sign maintenance, grass and tree trimming, and litter removal. Closure may be of the left or right shoulder. One side to be closed at a time.  

2) KANEOHE (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Full closure and detour of the Waimanalo-bound Kamehameha Highway on-ramp to the westbound H-3 Freeway,  

3) KANEOHE 

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, between the Pali Golf Course and Castle Junction, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 for grass and tree trimming.  

 

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY/ALA MOANA BOULEVARD (ROUTE 92) — 

1) AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL (NIGHT WORK) 

Two lanes closed on the right-hand side of eastbound Nimitz Highway (Route 92) between Rodgers Boulevard and Camp Caitlin Road, from 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Wednesday, June 24 for loop sensor installlation.  

2) HONOLULU (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Closures on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) between Awa Street and Richards Street on Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26, over a 24-hour period, for HART work includes: 

  • 24/7 CLOSURE: Awa Street closed 24/7 from Nimitz Highway (Route 92), in either direction through November 2026. 
  • 24/7 CLOSURE: Inside lanes in either direction on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) for installation of K-Rails, through 2030.  
  • Single lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) one in either direction, between Awa Street and Richards Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, for support of drilling, traffic signal work, and civil restoration, in addition to the 24-hour lane closures. Eastbound lane will close at 8:30 a.m. 
  • Left turn restrictions and lane shift from southbound Bishop Street toward Nimitz Highway (Route 92), from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 to accommodate traffic loop installations. 
  • Bishop Street full sidewalk closure east side (Diamond Head) of Bishop Street between Aloha Tower Drive and Nimitz Highway to support wall demolition. Closure lifted at 10 p.m. nightly. 
  • Roving single lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) possible in either direction, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for CCTV work at the following intersections:  
  • Alakawa Street & Nimitz Highway 
  • Kalihi Street & Nimitz Highway 
  • Waiakamilo Street & Nimitz Highway 
  • Nimitz Highway & Sand Island Access Road 
  • NIGHT WORK: Up to two lanes closed on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in both directions, between Awa Street and Richards Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 to support drilling work. One through lane to be maintained at all times.

3) HONOLULU  

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of westbound Nimitz Highway (Route 92) between Koula Street and Ward Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for underground utility work. 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTE 93) —

Roving shoulder closure on the right-hand side of Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Makua Beach and the Kalaeloa Interchange, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 for various maintenance activities to address complaints.     

2) WAIANAE 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction, between the Waianae Public Library and Kauiokalani Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspection. One direction to be closed at a time. 

3) WAIANAE 

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction, between Bayview Street and Waianae Valley Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspection. One direction to be closed at a time.  

4) NANAKULI (NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating two lane closure on eastbound Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Piliokahi Avenue and Pohakunui Avenue, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 for paving and striping work. 

5) KO OLINA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of eastbound Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Aliinui Drive and Koio Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Sunday, June 21 through Tuesday, June 18 for digging of electrical trench in the median. 

 

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 99) — 

1) HALEIWA 

Roving shoulder closure on the right-hand side of Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, between Weed Circle and Nui Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for mechanical mowing and grass trimming.  

2) MILILANI  

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of Wahiawa-bound Kamehameha Highway (Route 99), between Lanikuhana Avenue and the Lanikuhana Pedestrian Overpass, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 for scaffolding work near the pedestrian bridge.  

3) PEARL HARBOR  

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction between Kohomua Street and Center Drive, on Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26 for HART civil work. Closure times vary by direction and are scheduled as follows:  

  • Eastbound closures: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  
  • Westbound closures: 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

4) KALIHI (24/7 CLOSURE) 

The following closures are 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for The Rail. 

  • H-1 eastbound off-ramp to Dillingham Blvd. reduced to one lane.  
  • Middle Street southbound left turn reduced to single turn lane. 
  • Dillingham Boulevard eastbound between Middle Street and Marukai will have a single lane closed. 
  • Dillingham Boulevard westbound between GasPro and Middle Street will have a single lane closed.

— KUNIA ROAD (ROUTE 750) — 

1) KUNIA (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Full closure of the northbound lane on Kunia Road (Route 750) in the vicinity of the National Security Agency Facility, between Kunia Drive and Wright Avenue, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for slope stabilization due to previous storm damage. Motorists in each direction will be contraflowed through the open southbound lane. This closure is anticipated to be on the roadway through Saturday, June 27. — FORT BARRETTE ROAD (ROUTE 901) — 

1) KAPOLEI 

Roving single lane closure on Fort Barrette Road (Route 901) possible in either direction, at the intersection of enerprise Avenue and Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 for signage work. 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY/KAUKONAHUA ROAD (ROUTE 930) — 

1) MOKULEIA

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of Puuloa Road (Route 7310) possible in either direction, between Salt Lake Boulevard and the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway off-ramp, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26 for grass trimming and litter removal.  

2) SALT LAKE (NIGHT WORK)  

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of northbound Puuloa Road (Route 7310) between Salt Lake Boulevard and the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway off-ramp, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Tuesday, June 23 and Wednesday, June 24 for excavation of sign structure.

Two lane closure on the left-hand side of southbound Puuloa Road (Route 7310) between Salt Lake Boulevard and the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway off-ramp, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the evening of Thursday, June 25 for excavation of sign structure.
