PLEASE NOTE

A Holiday Lane Closure Restriction runs from Tuesday, Dec. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 4. Only closures with demonstrated need (e.g., necessary for safety or to avoid lengthy construction delays) have been approved and are on this list. There will be no lane closures on Thursday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day.Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Lihue bound direction, near mile post 9.3 in the vicinity of Lawai Mortuary, on Tuesday, December 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for KIUC doing emergency repair of downed lines.

 

 

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

 

1) KIPU TO KOLOA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 6.6 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Maluhia Road, on Wednesday, December 24 from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass around the guardrails.

 

2) KIPU TO KOLOA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 6.7 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Maluhia Road, on Monday, December 22 from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass around the guardrails.

 

3) OMAO

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Lihue bound direction, near mile post 9.3 in the vicinity of Lawai Mortuary, on Tuesday, December 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for KIUC doing emergency repair of downed lines.

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

 

 

1) LIHUE TO HANAMAULU

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 1.5, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Luhina Street on Monday, December 21 to Wednesday, December 23, and Friday, December 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

 

2) LIHUE (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 4 to 5.2, in the vicinity of Kauai Beach Road and Leho Drive, nightly on Monday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 24 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass.

 

3) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT WORK)

Lane shift on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive for striping on Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 21 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

 

4) PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 26 to 28 in the vicinity of Anini Vista Drive and Ka Haku Road, on Monday, December 22 to Wednesday, December 24  and Friday, December 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

1) WAILUA HOMESTEADS (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 6, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway, on Saturday, December 20 from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
