Motorists traveling in the westbound direction on the H-1 Freeway will be directed to Makakilo Drive via the Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa offramp (Exit 2), take a right onto Kamokila Boulevard, a right onto the new Wakea Street overpass, and continue onto the Farrington Highway onramp to return to the westbound H-1 Freeway. See below for a map of the detour route.

Motorists traveling on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction will be diverted onto the inside lane of westbound Farrington Highway at Laaloa Street. Motorists will continue in the inside lane on the westbound H-1 Freeway then take the Makakilo onramp, make a right onto Makakilo Drive and re-enter the eastbound H-1 Freeway from the eastbound Makakilo Drive onramp.
