KAHULUI — The State Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists that emergency repairs to restore damaged sections of Hana Highway at Milepost (MP) 10.4, MP 14 and  MP 16 will begin on Monday, July 16.  The highway was damaged during the heavy rains in March of this year.

Hana Highway will remain open during construction, but may be limited to one lane at each construction work site.  Work hours will be from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with night and weekend work as needed.  Repairs are expected to be completed by February 2013, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution while driving through the work zones.  Traffic control measures will be in place during work hours.
