Kauai Lane Closures

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 16 – MARCH 22

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) PUHI TO KIPU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.1 and 2.7, Kipu Road and Anonui Road, nightly from Sunday, March 17, through Friday, March. 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and asphalt paving. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

2) KALAHEO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, nightly from Sunday, March 17 through Friday, March. 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for shoulder subgrade and asphalt paving. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow). Use of alternate routes is recommended.

3) KALAHEO TO ELEELE

Roving right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 12 and 14.9, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulea Street, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

4) ELEELE

Lane shift in the right lane on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction between Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sewer line crossing.

5) HANAPEPE TO KAUMAKANI

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between Lele Road and Kaumakani Road, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading

 

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, March 17 through Friday, March 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving. 

2) ANAHOLA TO MOLOAA

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 16 to 18, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass cutting.

3) PRINCEVILLE  

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

4) WAINIHA (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure of Kuhio Highway (Route 560), between Ananalu Road and Ala Eke Road in the vicinity of Waihniha Bridge, nightly beginning on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for bridge repair. — HALEWILI ROAD (ROUTES 540) —

1) KALAHEO TO ELEELE

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

 

— KUAMOO ROAD (ROUTE 580) — 

1) WAILUA 

Right lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 and 2.5, on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

2) WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaekaa Falls lookout, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization. Two-way traffic is controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals. 3) WAILUA (WEEKEND WORK)

Roving right lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 and 2, in the vicinity of Lilia Place, on Saturday, March 16 from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for cutting grass and low hanging branches.
