- State to Implement New Hawaii Driver License Requirements Beginning Monday, March 5Beginning Monday, March 5, 2012 all individuals renewing or applying for a new Hawaii driver's license or learner's permit will be required to show proof of legal presence in the United States. Documentation is required to establish, (1) legal name, (2) date of birth, (3) social security number, and (4) legal presence. A full list of all potential documents, new requirements and frequently asked questions can be found at hawaii.gov/dot.
- 2012 Scenic Byway Applications Due In March As Two More Scenic Byways Are Designated In HawaiiApplications for scenic byways are being sought as the state designates two additional scenic byways. Hawaii Island’s Kau Scenic Byway—The Slopes of Mauna Loa and Kauai’s Holo Holo Koloa Scenic Byway were recently designated, bringing the state’s total to four (4). Nominations are due March 31, 2012. An application may be obtained at www.hawaiiscenicbyways.org.
- Motorcycle Safety Training Site Opens On KauaiA State-authorized motorcycle safety program will now be available on Kauai with the opening of Hawaii’s newest motorcycle safety training site in Lihue. DOT, Leeward Community College and Kauai Community College held a blessing ceremony today to dedicate the new site located at the Vidinha Stadium.
