H-1 Freeway Westbound Nighttime Closures for Pole and Drainage Installations
Posted on Oct 17, 2014 in Highways Posts, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation informs motorists of upcoming lane closures on the H-1 Freeway for pole and drainage installations. There will be partial nighttime westbound closures at the following locations:
- Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between Lunalilo Street Off-Ramp (Exit 23) and Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) on Monday night, October 20, through Tuesday morning, October 21, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two left lanes will be open for use. One lane on the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit22) will be closed.
- School Street On-Ramp and Off-Ramp (Exit 21A) will be closed in the westbound direction on Monday night, October 20, through Tuesday morning October 21, from 9:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists are advised to take the previous Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22) to Nuuanu Avenue to access the School Street area. Motorists wishing to access the H-1 westbound are advised to use the next available On-Ramp at Halona Street.
- Two Right lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Palama Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20C) and Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) on Tuesday night, October 21, through Friday morning October 24, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. All On-Ramps and Off-Ramps will remain open.
Work will begin in the westbound direction then finish in the eastbound direction. Closures are anticipated to last two weeks weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and allow for extra travel time. Please drive cautiously and be aware of the construction crews in the workzone area.
