Statewide Transportation Improvement Program public informational meetings scheduled for Hawaii Island and Kauai
Posted on Jul 11, 2018 in Highways Posts, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be holding its second round of statewide public informational meetings to discuss the fiscally constrained Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Fiscal Year 2019-2022 (+2).
Fiscal constraint of the new STIP was done using technical information from HDOT’s management systems, information on project schedules and readiness, and coordination with public agencies and the public. HDOT will also be sharing the survey results that were gathered from the first round of meetings and providing information about next steps.

The second round of public informational meetings for the island of Maui were conducted by the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in April 2018. Maui MPO’s Policy Board approved the 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the island of Maui on June 28, 2018. The STIP is a four-year programming implementation document that identifies State and County transportation projects, statewide, to be funded, in part, with Federal Highway and Transit funds.
