H-1 Freeway Nighttime Full Closure Locations Revised Westbound For Tuesday Night

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that previously announced weeknight lane closures on the H-1 Freeway have been adjusted for Tuesday night, December 2, through Wednesday morning, December 3, in the westbound direction only at the following locations and times due to rain delays on previous work nights.

WESTBOUND

[UPDATED]  9 p.m. Tuesday night, December 2, through approximately 12:01 a.m. Wednesday morning, December 3

Full westbound closures from the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22) to the School Street On-Ramp for pavement striping and marker installations.

1)  Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22).  Traffic can continue on Vineyard Boulevard to the next available on-ramps at School Street or Halona Street.

2)  The westbound H-1 Pali Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 21B) will be closed.  Pali Highway-bound motorists should exit at Vineyard Boulevard and turn right onto Pali Highway northbound.

3)  The westbound H-1 on-ramp from Punchbowl Street will be closed.  Motorists should use Vineyard Boulevard to the next available H-1 on-ramps at School Street or Halona Street.

H1-Kalihi-Full-Night-Closures-WB-Detours-Tues-Night

[UPDATED]  Approximately 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, December 3

The full westbound closure area will then move to the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) to the Middle Street Overpass for pavement striping and marker installations.

Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B).  Traffic can turn right to N. School Street or left to N. King St. as alternate routes and can re-enter the H-201 westbound at the Middle Street On-Ramp.  H-1 motorists wishing to access the Airport Viaduct are advised to use School Street, continue on Middle Street over the freeway, to the Airport Viaduct on-ramp at the Kamehameha Highway intersection.

All other previously announced lane closures listed below remain unchanged.

 

Wednesday night, December 3, through Friday morning, December 5

Partial westbound closures from the H-1 Pali Hwy. off-ramp (Exit 21B) to the Houghtailing Street off-ramp (Exit 20B).  Two right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for drainage grating work.  Two left lanes and all entrance and exit ramps will remain open.

 

EASTBOUND

Tuesday night, December 2, through Wednesday morning, December 3

Partial eastbound closures from the H-1 Vineyard Blvd. off-ramp (Exit 20B) to the Pali Hwy. off-ramp (Exit 21A).  Two right lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for drainage grating work.  Two left lanes and all entrance and exit ramps will remain open.

 

Wednesday night, December 3, through Friday morning, December 5

Full eastbound closures from the H-1 Airport Viaduct Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B) and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp to the H-1 Kalihi Street overpass from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for pavement striping and marker installations.

Eastbound H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct traffic will be detoured to the Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B).  Eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway traffic will be detoured to the King Street exit.  Traffic can re-enter the H-1 eastbound at the Kalihi Street on-ramp near Farrington High School.
