Oahu lane closures scheduled for the week of March 16 – March 22

— H-1 FREEWAY — 

1) HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Two to three left lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Ice Palace and Kahuapaani Street underpass from 9 p.m. on Friday night, March 15, continuously through 8 a.m., on Sunday morning, March 17, for emergency bridge repairs. 2) HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Two left lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Exit 15, Nimitz Highway and Joint Base PHH and Kahuapaani Street, continuously from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 through 12 a.m. on Sunday, March 18 for repaving work. 

3) HONOLULU 

Roving single right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of North School Street and Keehi Lagoon, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tree trimming, landscaping and weed control along the freeway. 

4) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK) 

Full ramp closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, at the Nimitz Highway Exit, Exit 18, beginning Monday, March 18 through Wednesday, March 20, from 8:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. for bridge inspections at the Keehi Interchange. Motorists will be detoured. 

5) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Lane closure on the Middle Street/Dillingham Boulevard offramp (Exit 18B) from the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Sunday, March 17, through Thursday, March 21, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for The Rail project.

Lane closure on the Nimitz Highway offramp (Exit 18) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Sunday, March 17, through Thursday, March 21 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for The Rail project.

7) HONOLULU  

Lane shift on the H-1 Freeway in both directions in the vicinity of the Gulick Avenue overpass on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for road repairs.  

8) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction near the Ola Lane overpass, seven days a week, over a 24-hour period, for the H1 Improvement project.

9) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK/NIGHT WORK) 

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Middle Street and North King Street, on Saturday, March 16 from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. for lighting work and inspection.   

10) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the University Interchange and Lunalilo Street on-ramp, beginning Sunday night, March 17, through Friday morning, March 22, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for pavement rehabilitation work. Ramps and exits will be closed, and motorists will be detoured. 

11) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the H1 Freeway westbound onramp from Moanalua Road, on Sunday, March 17, through the morning of Tuesday, March 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for High Friction Surface Treatment work.  

12) AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the H-1 westbound, Exit 13A to Moanalua Freeway beginning Sunday, March 17 through the morning of Tuesday, March 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for High Friction Surface Treatment work.  

13) AIEA 

Single lane shift on the H-1 Freeway in the northbound direction, at the Mililani/ Wahiawa Exit, Exit 8B, beginning Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for saw cutting and demolition of existing AC swale for installation of new AC swale. Ramp to remain open during work. 

14) AIEA 

Single lane shift on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, at the Mililani/ Wahiawa Exit, Exit 8A, beginning Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for saw cutting and demolition of existing AC swale for installation of new AC swale. Ramp to remain open during work. 

15) EWA BEACH TO WAIPAHU   

Single lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, between mile post 4.9 and 6.8, in the vicinity of Managers Drive and Fort Weaver Road, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail and post repairs. 

16) WAIPAHU  

Right shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, between mile post 6.4 and 6.6, on Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for bridge maintenance and pothole repair.  

 

— H-2 FREEWAY — 

1) HALAWA TO WAHIAWA 

Right shoulder closure and lane shift on the H-2 Freeway, possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the H-1 Freeway on-ramp and Wilikina Drive, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for installation of reflective markers and delineators along guardrails and ramp shoulders at various locations along the H-2 Freeway. Ramps will remain open during work hours. 

 

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY — 

1) MOANALUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the Puuloa Road on-ramp to the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway on Sunday, March 17, through Tuesday, March 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for surface treatment work.  

2) MOANALUA 

Left lane closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, in the eastbound direction, between mile post 0.8 t0 to 2.3, in the vicinity of the Halawa Interchange, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for electrical feeder and crossover work. 

3) MOANALUA   

Left lane closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Kahuapaani Street and Aloha Stadium on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for electrical feeder and crossover work. 

 

— H-3 FREEWAY — 

1) KANEOHE  

Right shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway in the southbound direction in the vicinity of the Kaneohe Marine Corps. Base Hawaii (MCBH) and Lookout Road, on Thursday, March 21, and Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for engineering survey work. 

2) KANEOHE 

Single lane closure on the H-3 Freeway in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Kapaa Quarry Place and Halekou Interchange, on Tuesday, March 19, through Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for survey crews as part of restriping project. 

3) KANEOHE (WEEKEND WORK) 

Left lane closure on the H-3 Freeway in the southbound direction, in the vicinity of the Harano Tunnel and the Halawa Interchange on Saturday, March 16, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for grass trimming and litter removal. 

4) KANEOHE (WEEKEND WORK) 

Shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway, possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Harano Tunnel and the Halawa Interchange on Saturday, March 16, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for grass trimming and litter removal. 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTES 93/99/930) — 

1) NANAKULI  

Two lane closures on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the eastbound direction at Ulehawa Bridge on Tuesday, March 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for bridge repairs. Motorists will be contraflowed through the work area. 

2) MAILI
Left lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction between Maipalaoa Road and Ulehawa Beach Park on Wednesday, March 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for replacement of damaged or missing delineators. 

3) MAILI 

Possible lane closure and shift on the Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Ulehawa Beach Park and Manununu Street on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 p.m.a.m. to 3 a.m p.m., for installation of two raised crosswalk table pedestrian signs. 

4) MAILI
Possible lane shift on Farrington Highway (Rotue Route93) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Maliona Street, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of signs and markings for new speed hump.  

5) MAILI 

Possible lane closure and shift on the Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Alapaki Street on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 p.m.a.m. to 3 a.m p.m.., for installation of raised crosswalk table pedestrian signs and pavement markings at Alapaki Street crossing.  

6) MAILI
Possible lane shift on Farrington Highway (RotueRoute 93) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Leihoku Street, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of signs and markings for new speed hump. 

7) MAILI 

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Milikami Street on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for striping work. 

8) MAKAHA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Upena Street and Makau Street, from Saturday, March 16, through Friday, March 22, over a 24-hour period, seven days a week, for work on bridge approaches at Makaha Bridge No. 3 and No. 3A. 

9) MOKULEIA 

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 930) in both directions in the vicinity of Dillingham Airfield and Kaukonahua Road, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for striping work. 

 

— KAHEKILI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 83) — 

1) KANEOHE 

Lane closure on Kahekili Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Waihee Road and Ahaolelo Road, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the Kahekili Roundabout project. 

 

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 61/72) — 

1) KAILUA 

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 61) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway/Pali Highway and Kapaa Quarry Road, beginning Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for HECO tree trimming. 

2) KAILUA TO WAIMANALO 

Shoulder lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Kanapuu Drive and Flamingo Street, from Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tree trimming.  

3) HAWAII KAI 

Possible single lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Portlock Road, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for raised crosswalk installations at the intersection of Portlock Road. Closure will be in the direction of work. 

4) NIU VALLEY 

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Paiko Drive and Lagoon, beginning Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction boring.  

5) AINA HAINA  

Left lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in both directions, in the vicinity of Kirkwood Street and West Hind Drive, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road repairs. 

6) NIU VALLEY TO KAHALA 

Left lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in both directions, in the vicinity of Puuikena Drive and Ainakoa Avenue, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road repairs. 

  

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTES 80/83/99) — 

1) HALEIWA 

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions in the vicinity of Weed Circle on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for grass mowing. 

2) HALEIWA 

Roving lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Weed Circle and Waimea Valley Road, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming. 

3) HALEIWA 

Shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction between mile post 0.14 and 0.15, on Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for litter removal. 

4) HALEIWA 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Waimea Bay Beach Park, on Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail installation.  

5) HALEIWA TO KAHALUU 

Roving shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Emerson Road and Waihee Road, on Monday, Monday 18, through Thursday, March 21, from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for grass and tree trimming, pothole filling and sign installations.  

6) WAIMEA TO SUNSET 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Waimea Valley and Dairy Road, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping work.  

7) HAUULA 

Intermittent lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kawaipuna Street and Imua Place, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for bridge work. Traffic will be contraflowed. 

8) HAUULA 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Makao Road, on Monday, March. 18, through Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for shoreline repair work. 

9) HAUULA TO KAHALUU 

Roving shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hauula Homestead Road and Waihee Road, on Friday, March 22, from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for grass and tree trimming, pothole filling and sign installations. 

10) KUALOA 

Lane shift on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kualoa Ranch and Kualoa Regional Park, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of permanent markings at five different raised speed humps. 

11) KANEOHE (NIGHT WORK) 

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, between the H-3 Freeway and Pali Highway, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for paving work.  

12) KALIHI (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Kamehameha Highway between Middle Street and Laumaka Street will be reduced to one westbound and one eastbound lane 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for The Rail. Other adjustments to the area include: 

  • No left turns from Kamehameha Highway will be allowed. 
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained. 
  • Driveway and Business access will be maintained. 
  • The H-1 eastbound off-ramp to Dillingham Blvd. will be reduced to one lane. Middle Street southbound left turn reduced to single turn lane. 
  • The sidewalk on the makai side of Dillingham Boulevard between Puuhale Road and Mokauea Street will be closed 24/7 with pedestrians rerouted to the mauka sidewalk.

Shoulder lane shift on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of the H-1 Freeway and H-2 Freeway off-ramps, beginning Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of delineators along ramp shoulders.

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, between mile post 13.12 and 13.13, in the vicinity of Leilehua Golf Course Road, on Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 22, from 8:30 p.m. a.m. to 3 p.m. for tree trimming.  

 

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 63) — 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND WORK) 

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in Honolulu-bound direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha IV Road, on Saturday, March 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction on the corner of Likelike Highway and Kamehameha IV Road. Please proceed with caution, falling debris are possible in this area. 

2) KALIHI VALLEY TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street and Kahekili Highway, beginning at 12 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, through 12 a.m. on Monday, March 18, for installation of high-friction surface treatment. Motorists will be detoured.  

3) KALIHI VALLEY TO KANEOHE 

Roving lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Honolulu-bound direction, in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street and the Wilson Tunnel, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for rumble strip and sign installations. 

4) KALIHI VALLEY TO KANEOHE  

Roving lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street to Kahekili Highway, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for rumble strip and sign installations 

5) KALIHI VALLEY  

Roving right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street and the Wilson Tunnel, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for mowing, litter removal and shoulder scraping. 

6) KANEOHE  

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of the Wilson Tunnel, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for maintenance work. 

7) KANEOHE 

Right shoulder closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of Kahekili Highway, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for chain link fence installations.  

 

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY / ALA MOANA BOULEVARD (ROUTE 92) —

Center lane closures on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in both directions, in the vicinity of the H-1 Freeway on and off-ramps, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., for the removal of a portion of the median.  

2) HONOLULU (CONTINUOUS CLOSURE) 

Right lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in the Honolulu-bound direction, in the vicinity of the H-1 Freeway on and off-ramps, on Monday, March. 18, through Friday, March 22, from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., for the removal of a portion of the median.
