For the week of Saturday, May 2, to Friday, May 8

PLEASE NOTE:
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK)

Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A) on Monday, May 4, through Friday morning, May 8, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly.

  • Three center lanes will be closed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Four center lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Please pay attention to traffic control signs as the traffic will be routed around the closure.

Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.

2) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for deck widening.

  • One right lane closed Monday through Wednesday and Friday
  • Two right lanes closed Thursday

3) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Full closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction from 8 p.m., Saturday night, May 2, through 9 a.m., Sunday morning, May 3, for striping work.

4) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split from 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, through 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, May 3, for striping work.

  • Two right lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Three right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

5) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Roving single lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Middle Street Overpass and the Ward Avenue Overpass on Wednesday, May 6, through Thursday morning, May 7, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for lighting fixture replacements.

6) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Full closure of the Piikoi Street On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming.

7) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Three left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Sunday night, May 3, through Friday morning, May 8, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

  • Three left lanes closed in the eastbound direction from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Three left lanes closed in the westbound direction from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

8) PEARL HARBOR

Right lane closure on the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp (Exit 15A) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the rail project.

9) PEARL HARBOR (NIGHT WORK)

Left lane closure of the Hickam AFB/Pearl Harbor Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday, May 4, through Tuesday morning, May 5, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. for road repaving.

10) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 9 p.m. on Friday, May 1, through 12:01 a.m. on Monday morning, May 4. All ramps will remain open.

Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.  Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

11) WAIPAHU

Shoulder closure at the Paiwa Street On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for chain link fence installations.

12) WAIPAHU

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) and the H-1/H-2 Merge on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for chain link fence installations.

 

 — H-3 FREEWAY —

1) KANEOHE

Right shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Mokapu Saddle Road On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

2) KANEOHE

Right shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

 

 — FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

 — KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

1) HAWAII KAI

Two lanes closed on Kalanianaole Highway in the westbound direction between Kirkwood Street and West Hind Drive on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for cold planing and resurfacing as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.

Left Turns will be allowed up to West Hind Drive and from West Halemaumau Street onward. Access to West and East Hind Drive will be allowed for westbound traffic only. U-turns to head back eastbound will be allowed at West Halemaumau Street. Police will be stationed throughout the contra-flow section to help direct traffic.

2) HAWAII KAI

Single lane closures on Kalanianaole Highway in the westbound direction at the Keahole Street intersection on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

3) KAILUA

Right shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

4) KAILUA

Lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the northbound direction between Kanapuu Drive and Keolu Drive on Monday, May 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for utility pole installations.

5) KAILUA

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in both directions at the Auloa Road intersection between Uluhala Street and Kapaa Quarry Road on Thursday, May 7, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

6) WAIMANALO (WEEKEND)

Lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the Kailua-bound direction between Aloiloi Street and Saddle City Road on Saturday, May 2, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming.

7) WAIMANALO

Lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the eastbound direction between Huli Street and Bell Street on Tuesday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for pole installations.

 

 — KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

1) KAAAWA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the northbound direction between Johnson Road and Kaaawa Valley Road on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

2) KAAAWA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for sandbag installations. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.

3) KANEOHE

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the southbound direction between Koolau View Drive and Kalanianaole Highway on Tuesday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

4) MILILANI

Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sidewalk, utility and guardrail installations.

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 freeway.

5) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street
  • Lane closures in both directions between Pali Momi Street and Honomanu Street, Monday through Friday.
  • Lane closures in both directions between Puu Poni Street and Kaonohi Street, Monday through Friday.

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the southbound direction between Avocado Street and Higgins Road on Monday, May 4, through Friday morning, May 8, from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m, for paving work.

7) WAIKELE

Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions at the Lumiaina Street intersection on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road reconstruction.

The Lumiaina Street Traffic Improvements project will add a dedicated left turn lane on Lumiaina Street in the eastbound direction, turning onto the northbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway towards Mililani.  Traffic signals will be modified to provide a left-turn only green arrow for these lanes.  Work is anticipated to be completed in June 2015.

 

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY —

1) KALIHI VALLEY (WEEKEND WORK)

Shoulder closure on the Pali Highway in the southbound direction between Wilson Tunnels and Kula Kolea Street on Saturday, May 2, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for road maintenance.

2) KANEOHE

Lane closure on Likelike Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction at the Anoi Road intersection between Kahekili Highway and Kamehameha Highway on Monday, May 4, through Friday morning, May 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for repairs to the Anoi Road Pedestrian Overpass.

 

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lane closures on Nimitz Highway in both directions between Punchbowl Street and Sumner Street on Sunday, May 3, through Friday, May 8, for cable replacements. One lane closed during daytime hours and two lanes closed overnight.
