Posted on Jun 19, 2023 in Highways Posts, Main, NewsLĪHUʻE – The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies highway users of an emergency single lane closure in the northbound direction on Kūhiō Highway between the southern point of Wailua Plantation Bridge and Kuamoʻo Road, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for emergency deck inspections.
This single lane closure will alternate between the northbound mauka and makai lanes of the Wailua Plantation Bridge. Traffic will contraflow through the open northbound lane, depending on the area of work.
The emergency single lane closure is needed to inspect the deck of the bridge following a finding during routine operations. The deck has been temporarily shored and there are no speed limit or weight reductions for Wailua Plantation Bridge at this time. HDOT will update the community on the findings of the inspection.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and proceed with caution through the work area.
