For the week of: June 14 – June 20

— H-1 FREEWAY — 

1) WAIPAHU TO PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Three lanes closed on the left-hand side of the eastbound H-1 Freeway, in the vicinity of the Waiawa Interchange and the Waipahu on-ramp from Farrington Highway, on Sunday, June 15, through Thursday, June 19 from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Deck Repairs. 

 

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of the Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 8B) from the westbound H-1 Freeway, on Saturday, June 14, from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. for repairs due to previous crash. Motorists trying to access Waipahu will be detoured via the Waikele/Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 7). 3) PEARL CITY  

Right lane closure on the Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 8B) from the westbound H-1 Freeway, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for slope improvements.   

 

4) AIEA (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Four to five lanes closed on the left-hand side of the westbound H-1 Freeway in the vicinity of the Halawa Heights/Stadium off-ramp (Exit 13B) to the Kaahumanu Street overpass for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Repairs. Closure hours vary by day of the week and are: 

  • 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, through 8 a.m. Saturday, June 14 
  • 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14 through 9 a.m. Sunday, June 15  

Note: The closure will start with four lanes at 7 p.m. and increase to five lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. 

 

5) AIEA (NIGHT WORK) 

Three to four lanes closed on the right-hand side of the westbound H-1 Freeway in the vicinity of the Aiea pedestrian overpass to the Kaahumanu Street overpass, nightly from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the following day on Tuesday, June 17, through Thursday, June 19, for the Pearl City & Waimalu Viaduct Deck Repairs.  

Note: The closure will start with three lanes at 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. 

 

6) AIRPORT VIADUCT (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Closure of three right lanes building to a full closure of westbound H-1 Freeway/Airport Viaduct from the Nimitz on-ramp to the Airport off-ramp from 6 p.m. Friday, June 13, through 4 a.m. Sunday, June 15, for the Airport Viaduct Repairs. 

  • Three lane closure from 6 p.m. Friday through 11 p.m. Friday 
  • Full westbound closure from 11 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday 
  • Three lane closure from 6 a.m. Saturday through 11 p.m. Saturday 
  • Full westbound closure from 11 p.m. Saturday through 4 a.m. Sunday 

 

The following ramps will be closed during this work:  

  • H-1 Middle Street on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Airport Viaduct (during the full closure only) 
  • Kamehameha Highway on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Airport Viaduct (during the full closure only) 
  • Nimitz Highway on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Airport Viaduct (during the full closure only) 
  • Airport off-ramp (Exit 16) from the Westbound H-1 Freeway 

 

Motorists may use Nimitz Highway as a detour to the Airport. The full closures Friday night into Saturday morning are expected to continue into mid-June. Overall project completion is expected in August. 

 

7) AIRPORT VIADUCT (NIGHT WORK) 

Three right lanes closed on the westbound H-1 Freeway/Airport Viaduct between the Keehi Interchange and the Pearl Harbor Interchange, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day on Monday, June 16 through Wednesday, June 18, for the Airport Viaduct Repairs. 

Please note, full closures of the following ramps will be in effect during this work:  

  • H-1 Middle Street on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Airport Viaduct 
  • Kamehameha Highway on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Airport Viaduct 
  • Westbound Paiea Street on-ramp to the H-1 Freeway

8) AIRPORT VIADUCT (NIGHT WORK)  

Full closures of the Paiea Street on-ramps to either direction of the H-1 Freeway from the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, June 16 through Thursday, June 19, for the Airport Viaduct Repairs.  

Motorists will be detoured via Aolele Street and Rodgers Boulevard to Nimitz Highway where they may re-enter the H-1 Freeway in either direction.  

 

9) SALT LAKE TO HAWAII KAI 

Roving single lane closure on the H-1 Freeway/Kalanianaole Highway possible in either direction between Puuloa Road and Lunalilo Home Road on Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to address pothole, litter, and sign requests.  

 

10) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Ramp closure on the Middle Street/Dillingham Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 18B) from the eastbound H-1 Freeway on Sunday, June 15, through Thursday, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for HART station work. Vehicles will be detoured via Middle Street.

11) HONOLULU (24-HOUR CLOSURE) 

Right shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway, in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Ola Lane overpass and Richard Lane, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. For more information, visit the project website: https://h1widening.com/. 

 

12) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the eastbound H-1 Freeway in the vicinity of the Ola Lane overpass and the Likelike Highway off-ramp (Exit 20A) Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the following day for work as part of the H-1 Freeway widening. 13) MAKIKI (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway, in the westbound direction between the McCully Street overpass and the Queen Emma Street overpass from 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, to 4 a.m. Saturday, June 14, for road marking maintenance.   

 

 

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY — 

1) STADIUM (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Two lanes closed on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, one in each direction, in the vicinity of Moanalua Road and the Halawa Interchange, on Sunday, June 15, through Thursday, June 19, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of new attenuator within the median. Ramps will remain open during this work.  

Note: This work will alternate with the day work. Both closures will not be performed on the same day. 

 

2) STADIUM  

Two lanes closed on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, one in each direction, in the vicinity of Moanalua Road and the Halawa Interchange, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new attenuator within the median. Ramps will remain open during this work.  

Note: This work will alternate with the night work. Both closures will not be performed on the same day. 

 

3) MOANALUA TO FORT SHAFTER  

Single lane and shoulder closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, possible in either direction, in the vicinity of t the Red Hill/ Moanalua Valley off-ramp (Exit 2) and the Fort Shafter overpass, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, for bridge inspections at various locations along the freeway. Each bridge inspection should take approximately one hour. 

 

4) MOANALUA TO FORT SHAFTER (NIGHT WORK) 

Single lane and shoulder closures on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Puuloa Interchange and the Fort Shafter overpass, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, for bridge inspections at various locations. The Kaua Street on-ramp to westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be closed during this work. Each bridge inspection should take approximately one hour.  

 

5) MOANALUA (NIGHT WORK) 

Right lane and shoulder closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Puuloa Interchange and the Kaua Street on-ramp, from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, for bridge inspections. The Moanalua Road on-ramp to eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be closed during this work. Each bridge inspection should take approximately one hour.  

 

6) FORT SHAFTER (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway off-ramp to the H-1 Freeway, in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Honolulu/ King Steet off-ramp, on the evening of Friday, June 13, through the morning of Saturday, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. 7) FORT SHAFTER (NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway off-ramp to the H-1 Freeway, in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Honolulu/ King Steet off-ramp, on Monday, June 16, and Friday, June 20, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. 8) MOANALUA (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Full closure of westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the vicinity of Fort Shafter/ Kaua Street on-ramp and the Middle Street off-ramp (Exit 19A) nightly on the evening of Sunday, June 15, through Thursday, June 19, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day for paving. Note: The approval for this closure has been extended to late June. 

 

 

— H-3 FREEWAY — 

1) KANEOHE 

Right lane closure on the H-3 Freeway, in the eastbound direction through the Harano Tunnel, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17, for lighting repairs.  

 

2) KANEOHE  

Right lane closure on the H-3 Freeway, in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of the Harano Tunnels and Halawa Valley, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 19 for lighting repairs.  

 

 

— PALI HIGHWAY/ KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY/ KAILUA ROAD (ROUTE 61) — 

1) NUUANU  

Single lane closure on Pali Highway (Route 61) possible in either direction in the vicinity of South Kuakini Street and Nuuanu Pali Drive, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20 for crosswalk gateway and delineator maintenance.  

 

2) NUUANU  

Single lane closure on Pali Highway (Route 61) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Jack Lane and Nuuanu Pali Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Monday, June 16, through Thursday, June 19, for sign maintenance.   

 

3) KAILUA (WEEKEND WORK) 

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole/Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Kailua-bound direction between the second tunnel and the Stephen Diocesan Center, on Saturday, June 14, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass trimming and shoulder scraping (e.g., removal of moss).   

 

4) KAILUA  

Roving single lane closure on Kalanianaole/Pali Highway (Route 61), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Castle Junction and Kailua Road, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for workline grass trimming.   

 

5) KAILUA  

Single lane closure on Kalanianaole/Pali Highway (Route 61), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Castle Junction and Kailua Road, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for sign and guardrail maintenance.  

 

6) KAILUA  

Two left lanes closed on Kalanianaole/Pali Highway (Route 61), one in either direction, in the vicinity of Castle Junction and Kailua Road, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for grass trimming and scraping work.  

 

7) KAILUA  

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole/Pali Highway (Route 61), in the Honolulu-bound direction, between mile post 8.1 to 8.3, near the Le Jardin Academy campus, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17 for guardrail repairs.  

 

8) KAILUA 

Single lane closure on Kailua Road (Route 61), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ulumanu Drive and Uluhala Street, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for traffic signals project. Potential closures of a single lane in both directions (for a total of two lanes) may be necessary.  

 

 

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY/ KALIHI STREET (ROUTE 63) — 

1) KALIHI (DAY + NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating right lane closure on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in the northbound direction between Eluwene Street and Coburn Street Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., for HART civil work in the Dillingham Boulevard intersection.

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street and the Wilson Tunnel, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, for grass trimming and litter removal.  

 

3) KALIHI  

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Nalanieha Street and the Wilson Tunnel, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Thursday, June 19, for tree trimming and scraping work. 

 

 

— KANEOHE BAY DRIVE (ROUTE 65) — 

1) KANEOHE 

Right lane closure on Kaneohe Bay Drive (Route 65), in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Nohonani Place and Aumoku Street, on Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for erosion control work.   

 

 

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 72) — 

 

1) PORTLOCK TO KAHALA 

Roving single lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Lunalilo Home Road and Ainakoa Avenue, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to address pothole, litter, and sign requests.   

 

 

— FORT WEAVER ROAD (ROUTE 76) — 

 

1) EWA BEACH (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Right lane closure on Fort Weaver Road (Route 76) in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Laulaunui Street and Awa Drive, on Saturday, June 14, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass and tree trimming, and shoulder scraping (e.g., removal of weeds). 

 

2) EWA BEACH (24-HOUR CLOSURE) 

Three center lanes closed on Fort Weaver Road (Route 76), one in either direction, in the vicinity of Kilaha Street and Parish Drive, on Saturday, June 14, through Friday, June 20, over a 24-hour period, for permanent sewer line repairs to be completed. One left lane in each direction and the center turning lane are closed during this time.

Right lane closure on Joseph P. Leong/Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), in northbound direction, in the vicinity of Weed Circle and Haleiwa Beach Park, on Sunday, June 15, from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for the Haleiwa Triathlon.  

 

2) HALEIWA  

Single lane closure on Jospeh P. Leong/ Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Opaeula Stream Bridge and Kapuhi Street, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for repaving work. One direction will be closed at a time.  

 

3) HALEIWA TO KAHALUU  

Roving right shoulder closure on Joseph P. Leong/ Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Anahulu River Bridge and Waihee Road, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tree trimming, pothole filling and sign maintenance. 

 

4) HALEIWA  

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction, in the vicinity of Hakuola Road and Ke Iki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, for electrical maintenance work.

5) KAHUKU  

Right lane and shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the Haleiwa-bound direction, in the vicinity of Kawela Camp Road and Kuilima Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 20 for HECO camera installations.
 

6) KAHUKU 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kamokila Boulevard and Burroughs Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20 for roadway excavation to install drainage system and relocate underground waterline.  

 

7) PUNALUU
Alternating right lane closure and contraflow on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction between Pat’s at Punaluu Vacation Rentals and Green Valley Road, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20 for installation of pavement markings.  

 

8) KAAAWA 

Alternating single lane closure and contraflow on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction between Ohelokai Road and Kaaawa Beach Park from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20 for beachline erosion control fronting Kaaawa Elementary School.  

 

9) KAHALUU  

Right lane and shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the Kahuku-bound direction, in the vicinity of Waikane Valley Road and Waiahole Valley Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 20 for HECO camera installations. 

 

 

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY/ ALA MOANA BOULEVARD (ROUTE 92) —

Right lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92), possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Valkenberg Street and Lagoon Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Thursday, June 19 for patching of spalled concrete columns.  

 

2) AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL AREA 

Right lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92), in the eastbound direction, between Valkenburgh Street and Aolele Street, Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for HART civil work.

Right shoulder closure and lane shift on Nimitz Highway (Route 92), in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Dillingham Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 18B) and Kalihi Stream Bridge, on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for HART striping work.

4) HONOLULU (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Closures on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) between Awa Street and Richards Street on Sunday, June 15, through Friday, June 20, over a 24-hour period, for HART work includes: 

  • Nimitz Highway eastbound and westbound between Awa Street and Richards Street will have two lanes closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (west), and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (east)  
  • Turn restrictions from westbound Nimitz Highway onto River Street, Smith Street, Awa Street, and Bethel Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • Closure of Smith Street and Richards Street for paving starts Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Nimitz Highway eastbound

9) HONOLULU 

Closure of the left-turn lane to Ward Avenue from Ala Moana Boulevard (Route 92) and single lane closure on Ala Moana Boulevard in the eastbound direction between Koula Street and Ward Avenue from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, for permit work for Kamehameha Schools. Highway users seeking to turn onto Ward Avenue will be detoured to Ahui Street. 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTE 93) — 

1) HONOKAI HALE TO KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK) 

Two left lanes (one in each direction) closed on Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Laaloa Street and the Kalaeloa Interchange nightly, Monday, June 16, and Thursday, June 19, from 7 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. the following morning for pavement reconstruction, signage and drainage relocation, and widening work.
